EST focuses on high-quality stainless steels, duplex stainless steels and nickel alloys, offering customers multiple cutting processes from a single source, including waterjet cutting, plasma cutting, laser cutting and band sawing. In addition, EST provides extensive capabilities for material testing, traceability, marking transfer, restamping, international packaging and logistics. Another advantage is the high availability of input material: stainless steel sheets and plates in numerous grades can often be procured and processed at short notice. Sheets and plates up to 3,000 mm wide and 12,000 mm long can also be processed. This gives customers an economical complete solution from material procurement and cutting through to inspected, documented and shipment-ready delivery from a single source.

Cutting Processes & Deburring

This depends on the material, thickness, geometry, and quality requirements.

Waterjet cutting

Ideal for:

  • highest material quality
  • no heat-affected zone
  • sensitive materials
  • thick materials
  • complex contours

Laser cutting

Ideal for:

  • high precision
  • thin to medium sheet thicknesses
  • large quantities
  • clean cut edges

Plasma cutting

Ideal for:

  • large material thicknesses
  • cost-effective production
  • large formats
  • fast processing

Band sawing

Ideal for:

  • rectangular contours
  • simple geometries
  • low costs
  • large material thicknesses

Waterjet cutting is particularly recommended when:

  • no thermal stress is permitted
  • no changes to the microstructure may occur
  • highest material quality is required
  • low-distortion cuts are needed
  • sensitive materials are processed

Because no heat is introduced, the material structure remains completely unchanged.

Laser cutting offers:

  • high dimensional accuracy
  • precise contours
  • narrow kerfs
  • high productivity
  • minimal rework

Laser cutting is often the most economical solution, especially for thin and medium sheet thicknesses.

Modern high-performance plasma cutting systems enable:

  • cost-effective processing of large material thicknesses
  • fast production times
  • good cut quality
  • processing of large plate formats
  • attractive unit costs

Plasma cutting is often the first choice for thick stainless steel sheets.

  • Cost-effective for simple cuts
  • Particularly suitable for rectangular contours and simple geometries
  • A good solution for thick materials
  • Low cutting costs compared to more complex cutting methods
  • A process that minimizes material damage without causing extensive thermal stress
  • Ideal for cutting sheets, blocks, and strips

Yes.
EST offers mechanical deburring using wide-belt grinding units and rotary brushes, vibratory finishing as well as further grinding and satin finishing processes. Stainless steel sheet metal cut parts can be mechanically processed up to 1,350 mm wide and 100 mm thick.

Technical Questions

The achievable tolerances depend on several factors:

  • cutting process
  • material thickness
  • material grade
  • component geometry
  • quality requirement

For thermal cutting processes, DIN EN ISO 9013 often provides the relevant tolerance framework.

You can find a detailed list of tolerances in our document “Manufacturing Instructions”; see Downloads.

For particularly tight tolerances, we recommend early coordination during the design phase.

Ideally, we receive:

  • DXF files
  • DWG files
  • STEP files
  • PDF drawings

Important aspects are:

  • closed contours
  • scale 1:1
  • clear drawing numbers
  • no duplicate lines
  • no auxiliary constructions or dimensions

The better the quality of the drawing and CAD data, the faster quotation and production can proceed.

Yes.
In addition to series production, we also process:

  • prototypes
  • sample parts
  • individual pieces
  • spare parts
  • small series

Individual solutions are often required, especially in plant engineering and custom machinery construction.

The maximum thicknesses and dimensions depend on the respective process.

In principle, stainless steel plates up to 150 mm thick, 12,000 mm long and 3,000 mm wide can be processed.

For specific projects, we determine the optimum manufacturing method based on your requirements.

Yes.
We offer different weld edge preparations:

  • V seam
  • X seam
  • K seam
  • Y seam

This reduces subsequent welding costs and improves the quality of the welded joint.

Purchasing & Procurement

For fast quotation processing, we recommend providing the following information:

  • material grade
  • material thickness
  • drawing and CAD data or requested dimensions for each part
  • quantity
  • delivery date
  • certificate requirements
  • required inspections
  • delivery address

The more complete the information, the faster and more accurately we can prepare your quotation.

The processing time depends on the scope and complexity of the inquiry.

Complete technical documentation significantly accelerates the quotation phase and helps avoid follow-up questions.

As a rule, we process your inquiries on the same or the next working day.

We manufacture:

  • individual parts
  • small series
  • medium series
  • large series
  • project orders

The optimum production strategy is individually adapted to requirements and economic efficiency.

Yes.
Many industrial customers use:

  • annual agreements
  • framework agreements
  • call-off orders
  • project contracts

This simplifies procurement processes and increases supply reliability.

Delivery time depends on the material grade, order scope and manufacturing process. For urgent projects, short-term solutions are often available.

Quality & Certificates

Quality is a central part of our manufacturing processes.

This includes:

  • documented inspection processes
  • incoming goods inspections
  • production monitoring
  • final outgoing goods inspections
  • traceability of materials
  • DIN EN ISO 9001:2015
  • DIN EN 764-5 (quality assurance for the transfer of material identification)

Yes.
Depending on the requirement, different types of documentation can be provided.

These include, for example:

  • inspection reports
  • inspection certificates 3.1 according to EN 10204
  • inspection certificates 3.2 according to EN 10204
  • test reports 2.2 according to EN 10204

In many industries – especially pressure vessel construction, power plant engineering and plant engineering – it must always be possible to trace:

  • which batch a material comes from
  • which inspections were carried out
  • which certificates are available

Complete traceability increases safety and documentation quality.

Yes.
We are pleased to offer the following marking transfer services:

  • 3.1 restamping, with restamping certificates
  • 3.2 restamping, with restamping certificates

Yes.
Depending on project requirements, the following are possible, for example:

  • tensile tests
  • hardness tests
  • ultrasonic testing
  • corrosion testing
  • spectral analyses
  • charpy impact tests
  • inspections and approvals by classification societies for shipbuilding

We offer inspections according to both EN and ASME / ASTM standards.

Yes.
Depending on the project, material testing, documentation and approvals according to ASME/ASTM requirements can be implemented.
